About Us

Happy Voices was founded in 2017 by Helen Washington. She wanted to set up a community choir that shared her love of musical theatre, using live musicians for the concerts.

The choir began with just a few members at Lostock.

We sing musical theatre and popular songs in two, three and four-part harmony and have completed three tours to Chester, North Wales, Lytham and Skipton, raising hundreds of pounds for local charities including Bolton Hospice, Trinity Hospice, Blackpool St David’s Hospice, North Wales and Chester Hospice, Kitty Rescue, Sue Ryder and Guide Dogs.

Performance venues have included supermarkets, town halls, festivals and Chorley Live, as well as many appearances in care homes and hospices.

Previous concerts have featured live bands, including a rhythm section and orchestral players.

We have been extremely fortunate to have West End professionals work with us. These include Musical Director Alan Berry, West End performer Kris Hedges-Manuel, and vocalists Craig Price and Jennifer Tierney. Vocal specialists have also included Musical Director Gareth Ellis.
